About Lauren
My approach is warm, accepting, genuine, direct and grounded in mindfulness and self-compassion. I create a safe, emotionally attuned space where clients can move toward their goals with clarity and confidence. I am deeply committed to cultural humility and inclusive care, and I welcome individuals of all backgrounds and identities.
I offer the following evidence-based therapies: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy (IBCT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT).
I have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Stony Brook University in New York and completed my APA-accredited predoctoral internship at the Denver VA. My fellowship training was concentrated in the Denver VA's Family Program, where I later joined the staff as the Women’s Mental Health psychologist. During my tenure at the VA, I co-founded and co-chaired the Mental Health Service Diversity, Equity and Inclusion workgroup and provided supervision to predoctoral interns and postdoctoral fellows in training. In addition to clinical practice, I have researched the neurobiological underpinnings of mental health, published peer-reviewed journal articles and served as a clinical instructor providing courses and seminars across multiple settings including universities and healthcare systems.
In my free time, I love climbing, making pizza and spending time with my family, including my dog and cat.
